So its Christmas time now.. time for a little break and the end of my first term of Handmade graphics.
I really feel i've created a style and learnt techniques which i enjoy and feel confident enough to push further into my next projects.
British Birds was perfect brief to kick start us into this specialism and encouraged me to appreciate things such as Blogger alot more with all the amazing artists you can find on there and connections to other sites.
From the pieces i have created i have been able to update and style my blog, allowing it to show my creative attitude to Handmade and illustration.
I will definitely continue to keep on creating more work over christmas and have a beautiful, fresh blog for the new year.
I think i've fitted into this really well and finally been able to achieve work that excites me and wanting to created new pieces all the time, in and out of university projects.
I really look forward to the next term and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and New year!

These are a start of a collection of frame pieces i am making for my British birds project. i've used a combination of card, fabric and shrinking plastic. i really love the detailed pieces of fabric and they work alot better when mixed with different textures and colours.

For my project on British birds, i've decided to concentrate on objects related to birds and mainly on the Curlew bird.
I've never tried out shrinking plastic before so i thought i'd see how this would work with my existing images.
I like the fact i didn't know the exact size they would turn out and it gives a good balance of media and texture to my pieces.

This is a piece my sister Grace and I made for a present. We had an idea of mixing our projects together so this opportunity was a good excuse to do so.
I really enjoyed collaborating our work and will definitely be doing similar projects in the future.

Business Cards
These are also part of the Yellow Owl collection. Really admire their illustrations and their alternative ideas for a business card.

FIND OF THE DAY- check this website out if your an illustration lover.
Particularly like the post cards, lcd lines and stamp sets.

I went along to a life drawing class recently to improve my drawing skills. Instead of trying to draw one perfect whole body i concentrated on each body part. I particularly found the feet interesting to draw and because they were quite dirty i attempted at drawing the dirt as well as just the shape of the foot.
I really enjoyed the life drawing and will definitely continue to go and will try and perfect my face drawing as this is where I'm at my weakest.

This also was part of the consumer project for our Organic Chocolate shop- Euphoria. This was the design for the gift box also with the origami influence. The idea was for the consumer to pick what colour they would like it tied with to give it a more personal feel for them and for the person receiving it.

These chocolates were handmade by a girl in my group for the same project ' the consumer'.
The bright stickers were a made to indicate what each chocolate was when they were placed in the chocolate box below.

This box design was for 'The Consumer' project at university. Origami packaging was the inspiration for my package designs. This particular box was to hold 12 chocolates.

I found this window design on Pottergate St in Norwich. It didn't have any relevance to the building and it was interesting how it was so random but worked so well where it was placed.

Some drawings i did during my break to expand on a previous technique i have used in other work to see how it worked.
